When is Valentine’s Day: Valentine’s day is undoubtedly one of the most widely observed days in all corners of the world. People plan surprises that turn into either dream-come-trues or end up being nightmares for some. In spite of the opposing forces, social media observes, everyone does long for a simple “Valentine’s day” message from their loved ones. According to a study, Valentine’s day is the second largest reason for sending a greeting card to someone, after Christmas holding the first place. When we actually think about it, the first question that comes to our mind is, “How did this day come into observation in the first place? Who was responsible for this day of love?”

If you make a quick search on Google, you will find many stories associated with an explanation about why people celebrate Valentine’s day. Of all the stories that I read, the one about a man named Valentine who fell in love with his jailer’s daughter sounded the best. Imagine arrested for some wild reason and you fall in love with your prison head’s daughter. Bad imagination, indeed. So this man started writing letters to the jailer’s beautiful daughter, addressing them as “From your Valentine”. Did you ever write one of these letters using the same phrase? If not, it’s time to write one, explaining how you found inspiration against all odds and end it with the world-famous phrase.

Instead of pondering over “what love feels like” and “how would you express your love”, this year, try something so simple yet heart-touching. Sometimes, a small gesture of love is what really matters. Who needs huge gifts and soft toys when a simple sentence might have a better effect?
